What a fabulous few days at Speciality! First and foremost my brand partners all contributed to help me put together a wonderful stand at the show, showcasing some amazing newness and on-trend concepts – shout outs to Moose Alpine Spirit, Natterjack Irish Whiskey, Jekl, Genie Living Drinks, Percivals & Co, Indian Spicebox, Mimo Foods, Liobites, Longtail, Cajuu and Can-D Foods

Then of course I had some presenting duties including daily stints on the Pitch! Live panel as well as discussing bio-hacking and the future of food.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the prestigious Golden Fork Dinner on Sunday night to whiteness the conclusion of Great Taste 2019 judging, which is always a huge part of my year. In addition I sat with The Seed Fund team at the dinner and watched as Kinda Co was crowned Seed Fund champion 2019!

You can never plan who you might meet or be introduced too but events like this never fail to surprise me. One of my favourite moment of the show (if not the YEAR) was having young Joshua, founder of The Salt Department seek me out for a chat about his new business. That’s not unusual in itself, but consider that Joshua is just 12 years old! Amazing. He’s already got two Great Taste winning products in his range and I’m sure will be getting more stars in the future.

Finally of course the opportunity to catch up and network with so many friends including buyers from Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Harrods, Sourced Market, Fenwick, the list goes on!

Now it’s time to regroup and follow up.
